ABS-CBN’s Gabby Lopez is an American citizen!

Senator Bato confronted the top management of the network about information he obtained that Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III, who was General Manager in 1987 and became Chairman in 1996, was an American citizen. Sabi ni ABS-CBN chief executive officer Carlo Katigbak, his uncle is a Filipino citizen.

It was only in 2004 that he reacquired Filipino citizenship under RA 9225 that granted people with Filipino ancestry who are citizens of other nations to apply for dual citizenship.

Under the Constitution, only Filipinos have the exclusive right to own and manage telecommunications and media corporations.

1995 to 19961995

Walang kaduda-duda.

ABS-CBN violated the 1987 Constitution that prohibits foreign equity ownership of a media company! Mabigat na kasalanan ito!

Indeed, ABS-CBN doesn’t deserve to have its franchise renewed. It betrayed the country. Traidor sa ating bansa.
